Yes, we have 1 private shower in the studio if you wish to use them. You may notice that your body continues to sweat for some time after a session, so we recommend waiting at least 30 minutes to shower to allow your body to continue to release toxins. We also recommend bringing your own robe as we currently do not provide robes.

How will the infrared sauna effect my skin / complexion?2017-10-24T23:06:31-04:00

Far infrared wavelengths increase the production of collagen (which makes skin supple) and elastin (which makes it elastic), and also improves the delivery of nutrients to the skin via increased blood flow.

If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and

If you have had tattoo work within the last 2-4 weeks, and maybe you should wait for 6 weeks if your tattoo is really colourful.

We will give you ear plugs prior to your float. But if you don’t want to use them, or if salt water accidentally gets in your ears, we have the solution for you. In every room we provide a solution of half white vinegar and half water. Just rinse out your ears with fresh water first, then squirt this solution in each ear one or two times. That should do it.

While there is no guarantee that the salt won’t strip some color from your hair, we recommend that you check if the water running through your hair in the shower at home is fully clear. If there is still some color coming out you should wait a couple of more days/showers. If your hair does bleed into the tank you can be charged up to $1500 to clean out the entire tank and filtration system and refill all the salt.

Is there a right way to Float?2017-10-24T22:49:40-04:00

What if I fall asleep in the float tank?2017-10-24T22:49:05-04:00

Its not uncommon to fall asleep during your float due to the deep relaxed state you enter into. Due to the high salt content the water in the tank is incredibly buoyant. It’s extremely unlikely that you’ll roll in your sleep in which case the worst that can happen is getting woken up by a bit of salt water in your eyes or mouth.

Can you reach altered states of consciousness?2017-10-24T22:48:27-04:00

Will the salt dry out my skin?2022-11-19T10:33:33-05:00

No, since the salt water solution contains magnesium sulfate, your skin will be softer and brighter than ever. You will absorb some of the Epsom salt, so it’s advised that you to drink plenty of water or tea after your float. You won’t prune up either from being in the water so long this is also due to the high salt content of the water.

What are Epsom Salts? 2017-10-24T22:32:20-04:00

Epsom salt – magnesium sulfate – is a chemical compound containing magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen. Combined with water, it raises the water’s specific gravity, resulting in a dense solution in which a body can float effortlessly. Epsom salt has been proven to be highly absorbable by the skin resulting in countless benefits to the body including detoxification, strengthening of the immune system, heightened endorphin release, and relief from physical, mental, and emotional stress and fatigue

How do you clean the float tanks?2017-10-24T22:31:53-04:00

For more details check out our cleaning section. In a nutshell the water is fully filtered 3-5 times between each float, passing through an intense filtration system for particulate matter and then a UV filter which targets the DNA and RNA of bacteria, viruses, algae and other biological matter. The environment created with the high concentration of salt with some natural disinfectant (Medical Grade Hydrogen Peroxide 35%) makes it nearly impossible for any type of microorganism to survive.

How long have float tanks been around?2018-03-15T14:39:13-04:00

Do I have to stay in Float tank the entire time?2017-10-24T22:30:10-04:00

No you can enter or exit as much as you like. There aren’t any latches on the tank doors, and you can get out anytime. That being said, the 60-minutes usually goes by a lot faster than you’d expect.

Can more than one person float in a tank at a time?2017-10-24T22:28:50-04:00

Only one person per tank. Double-wide tanks do exist, but we feel that they take away from the whole ‘sensory deprivation’ experience.

We have 4 Pro Float Cabins from Pro Float Inc, the Canadian Leader in float tank manufacturing and design.

If you have longer hair, you may want to bring a comb. Also, something to put your contact lenses into while you’re in the tank. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT FLOATING WITH CONTACTS IN. Other than that, we provide everything you need (towels,  earplugs, body wash/shampoo,  tea, water,..)

Can I float if its ‘that-time-of-the-month’?2017-10-24T22:25:19-04:00

Yes. Just follow the same protocol you would for a swimming pool. However we have a policy that any accidents of any type or kind that compromise the tank will result in a $1500 to refill the water and replace all of the Epson salts.

Is there anything I should do to prepare?2017-10-24T22:23:58-04:00

Check out our float prep section on our website. But quickly here: Don’t drink coffee or Alcohol for several hours beforehand (it can make your system jittery). Also, we suggest not shaving the day of your float, the salt water can irritate your skin. Eating a light meal about an hour to 90 minutes ahead of time stops your stomach from rumbling while you float which can be distracting. Other than that, check out our float tips page for more tips to have the best float experience possible.

However some people on their first float are so unfamiliar with this environment they have trouble settling in. That’s why we recommend most people float at least 3 times when starting to get the hang of it.

Your therapist will advise you on whether you need further treatments, as well as when and how often you need to return.

Is Colon Hydrotherapy Painful?2017-10-24T21:33:07-04:00

Most people find the procedure to be quite relaxing, with no discomfort. The colon fills and empties regularly as part of its normal function, so the treatment is nothing new. You may feel varying sensations of fullness and movement in your abdomen throughout the treatment. Colon Hydrotherapy is usually not painful at all.

It may feel a little strange as the small tube is inserted, and you may have a natural urge to squeeze it out again, but this passes quickly. Occasionally the colon may contract during the treatment, giving a cramping sensation but this is easily tolerated and passes as soon as the bowel empties again.

How does a Colon Hydrotherapy treatment compare to an enema?2017-10-24T21:05:33-04:00

An enema is limited in its reach, as it can only cleanse out the lower part of the colon and the rectum. Hydrotherapy can accomplish a much deeper cleanse reaching the rectum and the entirety of the colon.

“One colon irrigation is equivalent to 30 enemas.” – Dr. Norman Walker

Yes. A colonic or Colon Hydrotherapy is much safer and easier than the common enema.

What is an Open system for Colon Hydrotherapy?2017-10-24T15:44:43-04:00

In an open-system session, the water flows automatically at a constant pressure of 1 psi. The water is gravity driven and flows from a gravity tank located at the end of the unit. Due to the constant yet gentle flow of the water, generally 35-40 minutes is sufficient.

The disposable tube (speculum) used in the open-system is much thinner  than in the closed as it is only about pencil size.   Although it can be up to 10 inches long, only a small portion of about  1.5-2 inches is self-inserted into the rectum.

The Angel of Water system and most open systems are designed so that the client can self administer the session painlessly and easily. Tubing is used to connect the speculum to the unit where the water flows. There is a basin located in the middle of the unit, which the client sits over with a drain in the bottom. This where the client will release into and waste will travel down the drain into the sewer system underneath the unit. Although, the waste is “open” to air, the unit is designed as a vented system to ensure no odor or mess.

Due the larger tubing and plumbing used in open-system, there is no need for additional abdominal massage because larger amounts of stool are able to pass through the system sufficiently whereas in a closed system usually there needs to be someone to assist and massage when required.

Open systems allow you to evacuate up to 5x more fecal matter and waste in a single session than closed systems.

Although both systems have been proven to work well, our open system allows our clients to enjoy their privacy, while getting a more efficient cleanse. We believe the Angel of Water is the best unit on the market and why we chose to use it in our studio.

What is Colon Hydrotherapy / Colonics?2017-10-24T15:39:36-04:00

Colon Hydrotherapy, also called Colonics is simply the removal of toxins and waste that have collected in the colon, by the introduction of warm water through the rectum. The water cleans the colon by flowing into the colon, and flushing back out, carrying waste and toxins with it.

Colonics is important as without a clean and healthy colon, you can be susceptible to chronic or occasional constipation, fatigue, digestive issues, and other health concerns. As well, colonics is a highly effective method to cleanse your colon, and colon hydrotherapy is the only therapy that is proven to eliminate toxic residue that has buried itself into the internal walls of the colon.

Are there any risks?2017-10-24T15:00:54-04:00

Risks with whole body cryotherapy are minimal. Please check if you are in an at risk category before booking an appointment. Things that may occur include fluctuations in blood pressure during the procedure by up to 10 points systolically (this effect reverses after the end of the procedure, as peripheral circulation returns to normal), claustrophobia, redness, and skin burns (only if exposed to low temperatures longer than recommended), and allergic reaction to extreme cold (rare) .

Should anyone NOT do Cryotherapy?2017-10-24T15:28:19-04:00

People with the following conditions should avoid cryotherapy: Severe Hypertension (BP> 180/100), pregnancy, acute or recent myocardial infarction, cardiac pacemaker,  bleeding disorders, severe anemia, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, venous thrombosis, acute or recent cerebrovascular accident, uncontrolled seizures, Raynaud’s Syndrome, fever, tumor disease, symptomatic lung disorders, unstable angina pectoris, arrhythmia, symptomatic cardiovascular disease, infection, claustrophobia, cold allergy,  acute kidney and urinary tract diseases.

Those under the age of 18 will need medical approval and parental consent.

Will I need to shower before or after the treatment?2017-10-24T14:53:10-04:00

No the entire session is completely dry and will not make your skin wet.

What if I’m claustrophobic?2017-10-24T14:51:52-04:00

The doors to the unit never lock and your head will always remained exposed out of the top of the cabin. You will be able to exit the unit at any time you choose.

Will the cold make me sick?2017-10-24T14:49:58-04:00

No the cold blast actually works to activate the immune system and make it stronger. The cold will cause the internal body to increase in temperature, stimulate the immune system and decrease the severity and frequency of future colds.

How many treatments do you recommend?2017-10-24T14:47:03-04:00

We would suggest at least 5 treatments minimum not spaced out more than a few days apart (3 days or less) in order to maximize your results. If you keep feeling better and better keep going. Once you have reached a desirable state you can then come less frequently for maintenance.

How quickly should I expect results?2017-10-24T14:44:16-04:00

You’ll should feel great right away. Depending on your physical condition, you may feel relief from muscle and joint pain, improved energy, and increased flexibility that will last for several hours or even days. During every treatment you will experience the release of endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevator, a lift that can last for several hours. Changes in skin texture and reduction in cellulite and weight loss will take longer to see results. We recommend a series of treatments for maximum results.

How will I feel after the treatment?2017-10-24T14:38:24-04:00

During a cryotherapy session the body releases endorphins, which are hormones that make you feel great and energetic. The mood-enhancing effects from each session can last for days. You should also feel a reduction in pain and inflammation.

Is cryotherapy comfortable?2017-10-24T14:36:09-04:00

Once the client has entered the chamber the treatment is of short duration (2-3 minutes), and the cold is ‘dry’, making the temperature quite tolerable for most. There is a chance that the end of the treatment, you may get a ‘pins and needles’ sensation, which disappears almost immediately after the treatment.

Is it safe?2017-10-24T14:28:48-04:00

Yes. Single person cryo chambers have been used for the past 30+ years without any severe adverse reaction ever recorded.

The main concern with Cryotherapy is if a client enters into the machine with wet clothing, especially wet socks. At such temperatures water will freeze immediately. Nitrogen make up about 78% of the air we breathe and it is that exact same nitrogen that cools the tank. The clients head is exposed at all time and will breathe regular room air.  There will always be an operator present during operation. The operator raises the platform the client stands on up so that the head is above the heavier nitrogen vapors. For added safety, our cryotherapy room is also equipped with an oxygen monitor for extra safety measures. As an added precaution, in order to protect the more temperature sensitive tissues such as hands and feet, clients wear dry socks, slippers, and gloves, which we provide.

How does Cryotherapy work?2017-10-24T14:19:06-04:00

Once you enter the chamber, you will stand and slowly turn while cold nitrogen gas fills the chamber. Over a period of up to 3 minutes, the individuals skin surface temperature is lowered to approximately 50 degrees Fahrenheit. A sudden drop in temperature will trigger the skin’s cold receptors to activate the body’s most powerful survival mechanisms. Endorphins are released along with a rapid circulation of oxygen-rich blood throughout the entire body.

When was Cryotherapy technology invented?2017-10-24T14:18:30-04:00

Whole body Cryotherapy was originally developed in Japan in 1978 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, and the benefits have been studied and refined in Europe since that time.
